Poker Cards In The Hole and the Cards On The Board - To See or Not to See

We've had a home poker tournament going on for some time now, and there has been a constant dilemma that used to come up at every game. We move the game from home to home each month, and the host supplies the poker table, poker chips and playing cards for their home's poker game. Our regulars consist of people of all ages, and the one thing we couldn't seem to satisfy everyone on is what type of Poker Cards to play with.
Cards come with different size "indexes", or the size of the letters and numbers of the face of the cards. There is the Standard size index, where the face has fairly small numbers, then there are Jumbo indexes where the face of the cards have large numbers. Some of the Poker hosts use a Standard index and some of the Poker hosts use the Jumbo index. Neither one satisfied all the players. The small standard index got complaints from some players with vision difficulties that they can't easily read the board, the cards that end up face up in the middle of the table. We've even had some players misread their hand, thinking a club was a spade, and therefore playing wrong due to misreading the board. Then when we go to a game where the host uses the Jumbo index cards, which are easy to read face up in the center of the table on the board, they complain that the numbers are so large that it makes it much easier and possible for other players to see their hole cards when they look at them. To see or not to see.... That was the question.
Well, we've finally found a solution that makes everyone happy. It's a deck of poker cards with a Dual Index. The center of the card face has Jumbo numbers so they can easily be seen on the board. Then at each corner of the face of the card is a small angled number so when you check your hole cards you can just lift the corner of the hole cards and very easily see the small angled numbers without much chance at all of someone else getting a look. Peace at last. These style playing card decks seem to satisfy both camps, so now we use them exclusively and have no more "debates" as to which is better. Everyone likes these Dual Index cards.
This Dual Index is available now from the top cards companies, usually called "Poker Peek Index" or "Poker Index" cards. Bicycle, Copag and Modiano, all excellent cards, now offer these dual index or Poker Peek cards that are designed especially for Poker and are available from some of the online Poker Shops.
Give the Poker Peek index cards a try. They seem to offer the best of both worlds and now we use them exclusively at every home game.
