Are you looking for easy ways to win in Texas Hold em poker? If you wish to become an online poker player that can constantly win at Texas Holdem tables online, there are some things you must know...
First of all, let me tell you, winning and making LOTS of money with online poker isn't nearly as difficult as many players seem to believe. If you know how to play and where to play, you can make constant income from poker, whether it is Omaha or Texas Hold em that you prefer to play. So let's get things going and start making you a real winner in poker!
Bluffing to Win in Texas Holdem
This is one of the most important issues that you must learn if you wish to leave your poker sessions with some hefty profits in your pocket. Bluffing too often is just as big mistake as is bluffing too rarely and making bluffs at wrong situations is just pure hazardous poker play. Naturally when you bluff, it doesn't matter what cards you're holding, unless of course it's a semi-bluff.
Here are some basic rules about bluffing that can help you to improve your poker game:
1. Do not make moves when there are more than three players in the pot.
2. Do not bet against loose aggressive players, instead always raise their bet if you wish to take the pot from them. Those loose aggressive players are always making moves with nothing, but your raise against their bet should scare them away most of the time.
3. Try to create yourself a very tight table image at the beginning and it will make it so much easier for you to steal pots later on in the game.
OK, there were some tips on how to start winning more than losing. There is one more thing left that many online players overlook completely. You should play against weak players, those type of poker players that do not really know anything about the game. I know, how can you find those fishes of poker? Well, the best resource for finding the players that you can easily beat is...

The Advantages Of Receiving A Free Poker Stake

Posted on Thursday, 26 September 2019 by Gamblin Blogs | 0 comments

The world of poker is filled with players who are using someone else's money to get ahead. They receive a poker stake from a sponsor which enables them to take on the best players in the world if they choose. To apply for a stake, simply go online to a poker staking company and fill in their application form. You need to be prepared to prove your poker credentials because no sponsor will be willing to risk money on a novice. For those receiving the cash, there are very few drawbacks and a plethora of positives.
No Risk
The most obvious advantage of receiving a poker stake is the free money. Once you sign a contract, you are not risking a single cent of your own cash. No legitimate company will ask you to give your bank details (unless you unwisely choose to have the money paid there instead of PayPal for example) or invest any money of your own. The staking company is obviously impressed with your talent because they are placing faith and money in you. This means much less pressure than if it was your own money which usually leads to spectacular results.
Better Skills
As the poker staking company has laid down cash, it is in their best interests to improve your skills as best they can. You may be fortunate enough to be staked by a company who has professional players on their books. They will be able to give you all sorts of hints and tips with regards to playing online poker. So not only will you get a free poker stake, you will also have your game improved massively over the course of time. This will prove invaluable when the time comes to risk your own money.
Having money handed to you also allows you to play at stakes you are comfortable with. Those risking their own money may be forced to play at low stakes due to lack of cash or else high stakes games could be played in order to recover money that has already been lost.
A Guilty Conscience
There are some downsides to being staked however though none of them are severe or costly. If you received a poker stake and proceeded to blow through all of it in rapid time, you may feel guilty for losing your sponsor's investment. This feeling will be exacerbated if you are backed by an individual rather than a company. You should know that most stakes are offered by large companies who can afford the loss so don't feel so bad if things go wrong.
Playing The Percentages
Another problem is the fact you only receive a certain percentage of the profit. The majority of staking companies offer about half the profit to the player though more generous organizations may allow the player up to 65% of the profit. Again, this is not much of a complaint when you consider the fact you have not risked money of your own. If anything, half the profit is an extremely generous offer. Be grateful that there is a company out there willing to give you a free chance to make money doing something you love.
If you are looking to play online poker but cannot afford to get in on the action, consider using the services of companies that can offer you a free poker stake in return for a share of the profits. Poker players with a small bankroll will never have a better risk-free opportunity to increase it.

Poker Cards In The Hole and the Cards On The Board - To See or Not to See

We've had a home poker tournament going on for some time now, and there has been a constant dilemma that used to come up at every game. We move the game from home to home each month, and the host supplies the poker table, poker chips and playing cards for their home's poker game. Our regulars consist of people of all ages, and the one thing we couldn't seem to satisfy everyone on is what type of Poker Cards to play with.
Cards come with different size "indexes", or the size of the letters and numbers of the face of the cards. There is the Standard size index, where the face has fairly small numbers, then there are Jumbo indexes where the face of the cards have large numbers. Some of the Poker hosts use a Standard index and some of the Poker hosts use the Jumbo index. Neither one satisfied all the players. The small standard index got complaints from some players with vision difficulties that they can't easily read the board, the cards that end up face up in the middle of the table. We've even had some players misread their hand, thinking a club was a spade, and therefore playing wrong due to misreading the board. Then when we go to a game where the host uses the Jumbo index cards, which are easy to read face up in the center of the table on the board, they complain that the numbers are so large that it makes it much easier and possible for other players to see their hole cards when they look at them. To see or not to see.... That was the question.
Well, we've finally found a solution that makes everyone happy. It's a deck of poker cards with a Dual Index. The center of the card face has Jumbo numbers so they can easily be seen on the board. Then at each corner of the face of the card is a small angled number so when you check your hole cards you can just lift the corner of the hole cards and very easily see the small angled numbers without much chance at all of someone else getting a look. Peace at last. These style playing card decks seem to satisfy both camps, so now we use them exclusively and have no more "debates" as to which is better. Everyone likes these Dual Index cards.
This Dual Index is available now from the top cards companies, usually called "Poker Peek Index" or "Poker Index" cards. Bicycle, Copag and Modiano, all excellent cards, now offer these dual index or Poker Peek cards that are designed especially for Poker and are available from some of the online Poker Shops.
Give the Poker Peek index cards a try. They seem to offer the best of both worlds and now we use them exclusively at every home game.

Improve Your Home Poker Game - Three Tips to Make it More Fun

As a social activity, poker is hard to beat. Getting a group of friends to a home game provides many opportunities for friendly chat, social banter and just to hang out for an evening. It can even be profitable, although often money at a home poker game is just a sideline, rather than the main point of the evening.
But, how can you make the game even better? Much of the fun of poker depends on the environment. You don't want to be crammed into a tiny room, or perched around a coffee table. Take a look at these three essential tips to improve your home game without spending the earth.
(1) Lay on the snacks. There's nothing better than playing poker with a beverage and a selection of pizzas, or whatever food your group prefers. A selection of snacks can make all the difference to an entertaining evening. There's no need to break the bank when buying food. Frozen pizzas, heated in the oven, along with a selection of breads and chips can be just as tasty as those delivered from the store - at a fraction of the price.
(2) Invest in decent poker equipment. There are three 'tools of the poker trade' which can make all the difference to the quality of the game and the speed at which its played. A decent set of playing cards is easier to shuffle and less susceptible to getting damaged. In fact, it's always worth having a set in reserve. A poker table, or a table top for an existing table, adds the right atmosphere and provides the felt to hold the cards in place and stop them sliding. Finally, a set of poker chips is much more convenient than shifting around cash and saves all kinds of questions of the type "how much are you playing with?". Chips are always easier to glance at than cash.
(3) Get the right people. I can't stress how much more fun poker is with the right set of people. If there's someone in your poker group who is always anti-social, or who plays at a level out of kilter with the rest of the group, it can be easier to ditch them. Sometimes, getting the right people might mean making sacrifices. If there's a great group of guys who you'd like to play with, but they can't make the current date of your home game, consider moving to another night of the week. At least then you'll all be able to get together and play a much more social and attractive game.
So, there you have it. Three very easy to implement changes that can improve your home poker game. By just making one or two of these you'll have players who are keen to come back and play more. Make all three of them and you'll be offering the best home poker game in the whole neighbourhood.

How to Play Poker

The most famed scenes in any casino clip would definitely be the throwing down of cards on the table by the successful player, followed by him pulling all the chips towards himself, grinning like a Cheshire cat! That is Poker!
The dictionary definition of Poker is a game of cards involving two or more players in which bets are placed, money exchanges hands and lady luck rewards valuable hands. Poker is essentially a collective term given to any game of cards which involves betting. There are many variants to the game and popular variants include, straight poker(the grandfather of all poker), stud poker (which involves a 7 card play) and Draw poker(where unwanted cards are allowed to be disposed off and new cards drawn.)
All poker cards are given rankings. Higher the ranks, higher the chances of winning.
A flush occurs when all 5 cards in hand are of the same type, i.e. heart, spade, club or diamonds. A straight flush is when they are of the same type as well as sequential order.
Four of a kind occurs when a person has 4 of the cards from a type, similar to say for three of a kind, and two of a kind. A full house is when a person possesses 3 cards of a type and the other 2 of another type. A high card occurs when, none of the cards are from the same suit. That is honestly the worst state of positions a person can get and the winner is determined through the value of the highest "high card".
Now, before a person can start playing poker, he should know the basic rules that govern this game. Different forms of poker are governed by different rules and traits. These are hence covered below.
Straight poker, also known as the grandfather of all poker, is a no-nonsense form of poker. Each player draws a hand of 5 cards once and they start betting. This game usually ends the quickest.
In stud poker, every player gets to pick 7 cards up. From this 7 cards, he chooses and makes his hand of 5 cards on which bets are placed.
Draw poker is a game in which players are allowed to "throw away" or exchange undesirable cards for a random new card in order to make the best possible hand of 5 cards to bet upon.
Community poker, which is a major online poker game, is played by having each player be given an incomplete hand of cards. They are then supposed to complete their hand of cards by choosing from "community" cards whose values are visible to all the players. Upon completion of hand, bets are placed.

Poker - From the 'Cheating Game' to Respectability

There is a dispute among card historians as to the exact origins of the card game known as 'Poker'. Some claim that it is a derivation of a centuries old Persian game called 'Nas', while others insist that it is Chinese in origin started Emperor Mu-tsung. The French imported a Spanish card game called 'Pochen' (which they renamed 'Poque') into New Orleans which most people agree was the beginning of the game we now know as Poker.
The game of Poker quickly spread up the Mississippi via the Riverboat gamblers of the 1800's. The earliest written accounts of the card game of Poker was made by Jonathan H. Green where he referred to Poker in his writings as 'The Cheating Game', a name that probably refers to both the idea of 'bluffing' (a major part of the game and until Poker seldom found in card games) and the amount of money lost to those who were unfortunate enough to lose their money to the riverboat gamblers of the period.
Poker soon became a part of Americana during this country's Wild West era. There was hardly a saloon or hotel that didn't have a Poker game in progress either in a backroom or at a table.
Until recently Poker was relegated to a card game that was played at a 'boy's night out' gathering or by professionals at gaming casinos or illegal gambling houses. With the growth of the internet and the sudden rise of Poker variants such as "Texas Hold' Em" Poker has now found its way into the social mainstream. Now everyone from housewives to professional gamblers are playing the game.
The game of poker has taken off like wildfire in both the United States and abroad. Poker sets are 'flying' out of the game stores and many stores have poker tables on back order because of the recent demand. There are now cable channels that are dedicated to the card game, and high stakes games are now televised nationally. Poker has become a true cultural phenomenon; one that the internet has taken full advantage of.
Before the advent of internet gaming sites, a poker player had to sit down at a table with other players in order to wager on a poker game. Since a major part of poker gambling involves 'bluffing' (pretending that you have a better hand than you actually have) the visual signals that one player could glean from another (often called 'tells') were critical for true gambling success. Now card players can play, wager, and bluff without ever seeing their opponent, shifting the emphasis from physiological clues to psychological pressure.
Currently there are literally hundreds of poker websites which cater to the beginner player all the way up to gambling poker professionals where hundreds of thousands of dollars can be won or lost on a single hand. Most of the online poker sites attempt to create a relaxed and 'player-friendly' environment in an attempt to allay the fears of first time players. Most allow new players a large amount of freedom to 'roam' the various 'rooms' and even observe actual games in progress so that they can get a 'feel' for the differences of online play verses the more traditional 'live' poker game.
The card game of poker has had an image overhaul. No longer is it a game played by card sharks and men in smoke filled rooms hidden away from the general public. It is now played by housewives, businessmen, and even little old ladies in Pasadena.
